About Us

Our Rotary club is made up of a group of like-minded men and women who want to put something back into our community and have an enjoyable time whilst doing so. Currently we have about 30 active members aged from 35 upwards.

Woking District Rotary have a regular roster of events,  put on in our local community, some of which are fundraising, the proceeds of which are then used predominantly for worthy local causes within the Woking Borough and also to support some really worthwhile projects in various parts of the less-developed world. The Fireworks Extravaganza is our highest profile annual event, held in Woking Park each November. Both to raise money and attract and amuse the residents of Woking, an annual golf tournament, a classic car rally with occasional 'Prestige Lectures' on subjects of interest to the local public have also been organised.

Our Rotary members are also involved in direct action within Woking, aiming to support worthwhile community projects with our own hands and brains, most recently supporting the Foodbank.

We have regular meet ups, twice a month, usually with a meal, and often with visiting speakers on inspiring subjects, always aiming to improve our knowledge and understanding of the world around us. Whilst being a staunchly a non-political and secular organisation, we are not averse to ensuring we enjoy ourselves whilst doing this. Twice a month social or activity events are organised which members dip in and out of as they wish.

Our Woking District Rotary members are proud to be able to sponsor Woking Rotaract Club, which has similar aims to ours but is aimed at younger adults up to about 30 years old. Find out more here. We also have some supporters who are not members who we call Friends of Rotary. We call upon these friends from time to time to help us run our events and with community projects. If you think you might be interested in being a Friend of Rotary, fill in this form.

Rotary International is a worldwide organisation of affiliated clubs, of which we are one and we are advised that there are over 1.3 million members around the world.

If you think you might be interested in joining us to use your time, talents, professional skills and energy to improve the lives of people in your local community, we want to hear from you.

If you do join us, you’ll enjoy the benefits of business networking, personal development, making new friends, hearing inspiring speakers, having a great deal of fun, and experiencing that special sense of fulfilment that comes from achieving something really worthwhile.
